School theatre – challenge and satisfaction

School theatre – challenge and satisfactionOn October 5, 2016 RODN ‘WOM’ in Częstochowa hosted the ‘School theatre – challenge and satisfaction’ workshops. Teachers of the Bolesław Prus School Complex, Grażyna Tatarek and Renata Wojciechowska, shared their experience concerning directing theatre clubs. The elements of the workshops included: working on words, diction exercises, text interpretation based on great masters’ works (A. Fredro, Molier, K.I. Gałczyński), stage design, music and stage movement. The participants became actively involved in theatre etudes directed mainly by their students. During the workshops teachers watched ‘Orpheus in the Underworld’ written by K.I. Gałczyński performed by young actors of the theatre club in the Bolesław Prus School Complex. The event also found room for discussing  the educational function of the theatre and the need to develop children’s and adolescents’ reading comprehension skills.
