‘Maps of children’s emotions’ conference
On May 28, 2019 the Regional Teacher Development Centre ‘WOM’ in Częstochowa hosted a conference titled ‘Maps of children’s emotions. Shaping social-emotional competences of pre-school and early-school children’ organised in cooperation with ROM-E Metis in Katowice.
The conference aimed to broaden the participants’ knowledge of emotional development of pre-school and early-school children and the increase in effectiveness of the activities done in kindergartens and schools in the field of supporting development.
The lecture topics were related to the causes of children’s emotional disorders, presentation of the ‘Nonviolent Communication’ programme and its possibilities of implementation in kindergartens and schools.
In the second part of the conference, the participants were presented with the ‘Zippy’s Friends’ Programme and the importance of emotions in a teacher’s job.
The practical part included a presentation of good practice examples in the field of implementing programmes in developing emotional competences in kindergartens and schools.
