The Minister of Education on the basis of the legislation on the System of Education has determined the fundamental directions for the implementation of state education policy in the school year 2015/2016:
- Strenghtening the safety of children and adolescents, with particular focus on children with special educational needs staying in correctional and educational institutions, as well as social adaptation centres.
- Enhancing the quality of education in secondary schools through the involvement of social entrepreneurial partners’ representatives in adapting vocational training systems to the needs of the labour market.
- Developing reading skills and popularisation of reading among children and young people.
- Mathematics and science education in general schooling.
The school year 2015/2016 has been announced as the Year of Open School.
